Church History
Prevailing Word Church International was birthed into the hearts of Larry and Deloris Brown shortly after graduation from Rhema Bible Training Center in May, 1989. Following their graduation, they travelled extensively teaching and evangelizing around the country where they witnessed many salvations, healings, marriage restoration and conducted crusades, revivals and marriage seminars. In the early 90's, they hosted a Youth Retreat at a Christian Retreat in the mountains outside of Asheville, North Carolina in the town called Burnsville, North Carolina. This Retreat brought youth from various churches where the Brown's had ministered in over the years. Even today, some of those youth now adults, still remember and remind the Brown's of the wonderful experience that they had during the Retreat. From 1989 - 2005, the Brown's continued to travel extensively around the country again hosting revivals, crusades and ministering in denominational and non-denominational churches. At that time, their ministry was based in Columbia, South Carolina with membership at Word of Faith Christian Center, and from there they continued to evangelize while also assisting several fellow bible school classmates with the start up of their churches in Florida, Alabama and Virginia.
In August 2004, the Lord spoke to them about moving back to their home state of North Carolina to start a church and then to teach people what He had taught them. In August 2005, the Browns moved back to their home state of North Carolina and launched Prevailing Word Church International with a bible study at the Benson Civic Center in Benson, North Carolina on November 2, 2005. Then on November 17, 2005, they also launched their second weekly bible study at the Local Center in Knightdale, North Carolina. At that time, services were held as follows: Wednesday night bible study in Benson, North Carolina; Thursday night and Sunday evening services were held in Knightdale, North Carolina.
Shortly after this, the radio ministry emerged with a Tuesday broadcast on WCLY, Raleigh, North Carolina and a Saturday and Sunday broadcast on WLLY, Wilson, North Carolina. The radio ministry continued until the ministry relocated to 2231 E. Millbrook Road, Raleigh, North Carolina. They anticipate returning to the radio airways in the near future. Pastor Larry & Co-Pastor Deloris continue to have a burning desire to see people saved, knowledgeable of God's Word and living a life that is a witness of the salvation experience. Finally, the ministry moved from 2231 E. Millbrook Road, Raleigh, North Carolina to Millbrook Elementary School, 1520 E. Millbrook Road, Raleigh North Carolina and remained there for 32 months until our current location here at 108 Professional Court, Garner, North Carolina. Prevailing Word Church International has great expectations for a coming move of God, that is so needed and necessary in the world today and look forward to continuing to be a light and a beacon to lost souls for the glory of God!
Meet the Pastors
Pastors Larry and Deloris Brown are both natives of North Carolina. They are a retired Army Officer family where Pastor Larry spent twenty (20) years in the US Army. They have been married for fifty-seven (57) years and have one son, Stephen Brown.
They are both 1989 graduates of Rhema Bible Training College, aka, Kenneth Hagin Ministries, Tulsa, Oklahoma. They have traveled extensively around the country preaching and teaching God's Word and seeing the mighty hand of God transform lives, heal sick bodies, and restore marriages and families. They maintain ministerial credentials with Rhema Ministerial Association International, Tulsa, OK.
Pastors Larry and Deloris believe that one conversation with an individual can change his or her destiny for all eternity. They know that each individual has potential and gifting from God and they enjoy helping individuals unleash their God given potential - Romans 11:29.
Prevailing Word Church International (PWCI) is a Word-Centered, Spirit-Filled, Family-Oriented church where the bible is taught and the Word of God is final authority -
Isaiah 55:9-11 and Matthew 16:18-19.
We are committed to advancing the Kingdom of God through knowledge of His Holy Word and to demonstrate the love of God in the earth today. We believe God has a definite purpose and plan for each and every person - Jeremiah 29:11.
Prevailing Word Church International (PWCI) is non-denominational, multi-racial, and multi-cultural, because we believe the Word and Anointing of God is for all of mankind without exceptions - Revelation 5:9-10. Therefore, our main purpose, is to follow the leading of the Spirit of God to establish a Body of Believers who are thoroughly taught in the Word of God, loving in character, aggressive and fully persuaded that God's Word prevails - Romans 8:14.

The Vision
Our desire is to establish a strong and loving Word based Mother Church that will nurture the Prevailing Word Church International church family, which ministers to the total man and woman - Spirit, Soul and Body - 1st Thessalonians 5:23.
We will have a State of the Art Sanctuary and other facilities that provides family ministry, which includes children, youth, seniors, singles and couples.

The Ministry will have a variety of outreaches to impact the local, regional, national and international communities - Matthew 28:18-20 and Mark 16:15-20
The goal is to conduct regular outreach crusades. This allows for ministry opportunities for those who will be trained and developed through the church to assist in the expansion of the ministry, thereby advancing the Kingdom of God in new territories.Ephesians 2:4-10
